NetFav stands for Favourites on the Internet. It's a program allow you to store your Favourites (URL) on the Internet for global access yet maintain highest privacy and convenience.
We use Internet Explorer to surf the net. Whenever we come across a website we foresee we will visit again, we save the address (URL) into the Favourite for future use. But one common problem with this is that the favourites you saved only exist on the computer you used at the time of saving. When you use another computer, you are not able to access those favourites.
Also, when you use a shared computer especially at home, you cannot save those strictly personal favourites because your other family members will be able to see and use them.
These are quite inconvenient.
NetFav solves this problem by allowing you to store your favourites on the net and protect it with password. Then you can access them wherever you are, anywhere in the world where there is Internet access.
For an example, when you are at home surfing the net, you have an address (URL) to save, you simply logon to NetFav and save that address (URL) in your private NetFav. Once that address (URL) is saved, you can access and use it anywhere else.
You will understand more after reading benefits of NetFav.
1. Favourite on the move
By saving Favourites onto Internet, you
can access it virtually anywhere in the world so long as
there is Internet access. Your NetFav follows you wherever
you go. This is especially convenient to those people who
travel overseas often. Even when you are in your own country,
a lot of time you feel very handicapped when you are not
able to access those favourites you saved when you are not
on your usual computer.
2. No fear if other people use your computer
From time to time, there are web sites
or pages we like to visit again but are not storing them
onto Internet Explorer's Favourite because we do not want
other people who may use the same computer later can see
or use them. It gets pretty annoying when you have more
and more such URLs not able to save, and you forget and
loose them eventually.
NetFav solves the problem by allowing you
to save your favourites onto the Internet for you to access
them anywhere you like. Favourites you saved on NetFav is
password protected. Only you, with the right password, can
access them.
3. No fear when your computer is reinstalled
Many of us had experienced when our computer
is reinstalled or replaced because of upgrade, computer
glitches or virus attacks, all the precious favourites we
stored on Internet Explorer's favourite are gone.
NetFav saves your favourite onto the net
and you will never lose them no matter how many times you
upgrade or change your computer. This is the same as your
Yahoo and Hotmail, they are always on the net, no matter
what happen to your computer.
4. Keep login information alongside the URL
Some websites by nature of its use, require
you to login with a username and password, e.g. a members-only
website or website for classified advertisement may require
you to register as member and login with password. When
you save the address (URL) of this website onto Internet
Explorer's Favourite, there is no place for you to keep
the username and password. If you don't keep these access
information somewhere, there is a high tendency you will
forget them and not able to access that website some times
later. Then, you ended up re-registering a new account again.
This is pretty annoying.
NetFav, besides providing basic saving
of favourites, allow you to save all the related information
associated with that website. When you save a new favourite
on NetFav, you have the option to store the login information
and/or remarks pertaining to that web site.
5. Sharing favourites
NetFav allow you to share Favourite with
your trusted pal, so long as each one of you have the password
to access the NetFav. This is great for teams working on
the same project or research.
6. Favourite for life
Your Yahoo and Hotmail account lasts for
life so long as you remember the account name and password.
Favourite you save on NetFav works the same way - it lasts
for your life time.
Since the first day we use Internet till
today, ask yourself a question 'how many favourites you
have lost along the way due to one reason or another?'.
The answer for many people is 'MANY! I don't even remember
what they are.' NetFav store and accumulate your favourites
and you will be amazed how much precious favourite you will
save in no times. Making your net surfing experience a lot
more easier and pleasant.
Your NetFav always come with some sample
addresses (URL). You can delete them if they are not useful
to you. To delete them, click the 'EV' for the address (URL)
you want to delete, and click on 'delete' button in the following
screen.
You should create new favourite for your
own use, by clicking on 'Add New Favourite', then simply type
the URL manually in the page. It will be easier to visit the
website first, then copy and paste the URL from the address
(URL) bar by pressing Alt-D follows by Ctrl-C. Then when you
are creating New Favourite, just press Ctrl-V to paste the
address (URL).
While creating new favourite, for a website
require you to login, e.g. member login information for a
classified ad web page, you can make use of the 'login id'
and 'password' to store those informations. For website requires
you to supply an email address (URL) as part of the member
registration, use the 'email given' field.
When you create new favourite, you are asked
to categorize the favourite. Your NetFav comes with some categories
and sub-categories but you can add new categories and sub-categories
yourself.
For first time user, please change your password
by clicking on the 'change password'.

account?

without the password. Change your password as often as you
deem necessary.

you have other alternative. In this case, just use NetFav

I can store on NetFav?
No.

NetFav works for Internet Explorer and
Netscape on PC and Mac.
5. What is the 'aaa_regular' category for?
For those websites you visit more often,
it's most convenient to lump them under a category that
always show on top of the category list. 'aaa' is most likely
to show on top, if not, the top most. You are free to create
any other category convention to make it show at the top
of the category list. In any case, 'aaa_regular' cannot
be deleted.
6. Why I cannot find a category I just created?
New category created does not show up in
the browsing screen until at least one favourite is created
under that category. It's therefore best to create a new
category only just before you have a new favourite to categorise.
